Is Personal Coaching right for you?
Bodyscan Personal Coaching is designed for anyone, male or female, looking to cut fat, improve muscle or both. There are three main points for you to consider before embarking on any programme delivered online or via an app:
1. Together with customised food plans it is primarily a weights-based resistance training regime, so it is recommended that you have access to a gym facility with free weights, weights machines or both. A weights programme provides superior fat loss while maintaining or increasing muscle mass.
2. With the emphasis on resistance training over cardiovascular exercise, it is best suited to those who have some experience and understand the importance of good form. The app’s videos show very clearly how the exercises should be performed but if you are new to resistance training you should request the assistance of your gym’s staff or a personal trainer to show you how to correctly use gym equipment. This is to increase the efficiency of each exercise and to reduce the risk of injury.
3. Motivation and discipline. If you’re the type of person who needs someone to frogmarch you into the gym and stand over you, then this app-delivered training programme is probably not for you!
The Sign-Up Process
Here's a bit more detail around the sign-up process. After you've made payment you'll be asked to create a profile and then complete three forms:
a) PAR-Q: This ‘physical activity readiness questionnaire’ is a standard form used throughout the fitness industry to help us determine if you are ready and able for a fitness programme.
b) Initial Consultation: This is used to understand your goals and gather as much detail as possible on your current routine as well as your food, exercise and lifestyle preferences. We use this information to make the programme as personal and as easy to follow as possible, so please give full answers.
c) Programme Disclaimer: to ensure you understand any risks involved in your participation in the programme.
Once you’ve completed these forms you’ll receive an email for you to activate your account. Your coach will then start work on your personalised plans and deliver everything within 72 hours. Because your programme is personal to you and not off-the-shelf, please wait a full 72 hours before chasing up.
In the meantime, grab your smartphone and download the "My PT Hub" app from the Apple or Google Play app store. When your programme is ready you’ll be able to log in, create a PIN and get started.
